Accessibility and Usability Information
This site has several features that enable greater accessibility for all users no matter what browser or device you're using to browse our site. This page contains details of the technology which has been utilised.

This site is built entirely in standards compliant xHTML and CSS to separate content from style. This ensures that content can always be read even if the device you're using (e.g. screen readers, text-to-braille devices) doesn't support the style.

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press CTRL + an access key. The following access keys are available throughout the site:

1 - Home
2 - About us
3 - Why redland?
4 - Solutions
5 - Clients & Partners
6 - Documentation
7 - Contact us

This website has been designed with accessibility in mind. As far as is possible, we try to ensure that it operates across multiple platforms and browsers and is accessible to everyone who wants to use it.

Standards compliance
All pages on the site, unless otherwise stated, are Bobby AAA approved , complying with all priority 1, 2, and 3 guidelines of the W3 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. All pages on the site, unless otherwise stated, are validated as HTML 4.01 Transitional.

Wherever possible, links will include a Title/ALT Tag. This will allow for the visitor to see the title of a link before clicking on it. This will also be advantageous for screen reader software.

Link text is never duplicated; two links with the same link text always point to the same address.

This website utilises two distinct image types:

  • Content images used include descriptive ALT attributes.
  • Decorative images include short ALT attributes.

Accessibility software
We would recommend the following accessibility software from various vendors:

  • JAWS
We would recommend JAWS a screen reader for Windows. A time-limited, downloadable demo is available here.

  • LYNX
An alternative Screen Reader is Lynx, a free text-only web browser for blind users with refreshable Braille displays.

  • Links
Links is a free text-only web browser for visual users with low bandwidth.

  • Opera
Opera, a visual browser with many accessibility-related features, including text zooming, user stylesheets, image toggle. A free downloadable version is available. Compatible with Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and several other operating systems, it can be downloaded here.

Accessibility services
The following services are external systems for checking the compliance of our website. These are 3rd party systems and their reports are only for use as guidance:

  • W3C HTML Validator
W3C HTML Validator is a free service for checking that web pages conform to published HTML standards.

  • Lynx Viewer
Lynx Viewer is a free service for viewing what your web pages would look like in Lynx.
